It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas…

Well there you have it, we’ve come full circle and winter is once again upon us. I’ll start things off with an update- As those of you who follow us on Instagram and Twitter will know, we shared some very exciting news recently. Adria UK will be supporting Our Travelling Family’s volunteer tour next year and have offered to provide us with one of their brand new family caravans, the ‘Adria Altea Tamar‘.

To say we are ecstatic would be a complete understatement. To have the backing of one of the leaders in the caravan and motorhome industry, a company which is able to provide support throughout Europe, Korea, Israel and New Zealand is absolutely phenomenal. And best of all….they understand who we are as a family and why we feel it’s important to take the necessary steps (and risks) to make our dreams a reality!

The 2nd piece of news is that plans have changed slightly. We will be leaving the UK on Tuesday the 16th April and will sail from Portsmouth to Santander. We will spend one evening in Spain before heading to Portugal to start our tour. We will spend approximately one and a half months per country and plan to visit Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia in the spring and summer before heading to Hungary, Austria and Germany towards the end of the year.

Other than that nothing much to report. Life on the campsite is a little more challenging (and a lot muddier) in the winter. Chores like filling the water and emptying the loo are now done in the cold and dark. Storms and strong winds mean that it’s sometimes difficult to get a good nights sleep and we aren’t eating outdoors nearly as much as we did in the summer months. On the plus side, most campsites are virtually empty at this time of the year and on a good clear evening you have the stars all to yourself!

Christmas is always a big celebration in the Binedell household and this year is no different. It’s our 2nd Christmas in the caravan and the lights are up, the tree and awning are decorated and the smells of cinnamon and nutmeg are all around. We will be spending Christmas Day with one of our closest friends (and Sebastian’s godmother), Jacky. Jacky will hopefully be making regular appearances throughout our travels next year so we thought it was a good time to introduce her.

I think that about sums it up for this month. Our new YouTube video ‘7 (caravan) meals in 7 days’ will be uploaded this weekend so if you haven’t yet subscribed please do.
